Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Plaxgen is seeking a Full/Part time Clinical Laboratory Scientist with relevant experience to work in our CLIA lab.

Job duties and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical sciences or related field and possess an active, valid license issued by the State of California to perform high complexity testing.

  • Responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results.
  • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results;
  • Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens;
  • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed;
  • Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance;
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director;
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
  • Experience in working with Roche Cobas Chemistry Analyzer is a plus.

Sales Representative

Plaxgen is seeking a Sales Representative with relevant experience to work in our CLIA lab.

Job duties and Responsibilities:
B.A. or B.S. degree in relevant field or equivalent experience with minimum one year bio-product sales, medical device sales or hospital sales experience in the assigned territory/accounts.

  • Develop and implement strategies for introducing our assays and growing the business in assigned accounts.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with targeted opinion leaders and hospitals, including physicians, medical staff, clinical lab manager, etc.
  • Discover who the decision-makers and key contacts are in a hospital account, and establish and maintain professional relationships.
  • Develop and/or maintain permanent customer records.
  • Experience selling diagnostic assays to doctors is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated with a sense of urgency, well-organized, strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to establish and build relationships and rapport with a diverse customer base.
  • Valid CA driver’s license

Laboratory Assistant

Plaxgen is seeking a Full/Part time Laboratory Assistant with relevant experience to work in our CLIA lab.

Job duties and Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Assistant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Under supervision and control of the Testing personnel, the Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the following:

  • Assist in compiling testing volume data.
  • Assist in performing and recording quality control and maintenance of testing supplies and equipment.
  • Measures and records temperatures.  Notifies laboratory manager of out of range temperatures.  Assists with correcting these problems if appropriate.
  • Assist in accepting and accessioning specimens into manual log book and distributing them to the appropriate area.
  • Answering phones, routing calls and taking messages as necessary.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.
